“The west was won with tenacity and grit. It’s the manner of western folk that face adversity with dauntless courage and a spirit that will never quit!”, according to Western Sage.

I’m proud to claim a good many friends, both cowgirls and cowboys, that handle life situations with just as much tenacity and grit as any of those old time western cowboys that helped build the west. They have the rough and tumble, devil may care, get ‘er done, and no quit attitude that seems to exist with those that are one with nature. But, they will all agree, although working conditions are often harsh and the pay is low, their love for the land and wide open spaces helps them, as Tom Blasingame would say, “Just enjoy the ride!”

Tom was a cowboy on the JA ranch that is located in the Panhandle of Texas just off the cap rock in the Palo Dura Canyon. A partnership of Englishman John Adair and the famous Texas pioneer, Charles Goodnight, founded the JA Ranch in 1877. Charley died Dec. 12, 1929.
