Lady Cougars run rule Chilton

The Rosebud-Lott Lady Cougars softball team hosted the Chilton Lady Pirates on Friday April 11. Rosebud-Lott was shut out by Thorndale, losing 13-0 in a game that ended in three innings due to the 15 run rule being enforced.

Rosebud-Lott pulled away quickly with 11 runs in the first inning and never looked back. Brooke Skala, Nikayla Bravo-Hodges, Emery Easter, Madison Skala, and Tamryn Stock all contributed to the big inning.

The Lady Cougars added on with eight more runs in the second inning to go up 19-0 and activate the 15 run rule. Arianna Vargas, Stock, A’Laya Cavitt, Brynlee Laperouse, and Mekenzie Scheler all contributed with runs to the big inning. The Lady Cougars tallied 14 hits in the game. Stock, Bravo-Hodges, and Easter each collected two hits for Rosebud-Lott. Skala, Bravo-Hodges, and Cavitt each drove in two runs for Rosebud-Lott.

Lady Cougars ran wild on the base paths, accumulating 18 stolen bases for the game. The Lady Cougar defense was surehanded in the field and didn’t commit a single error. Mekenzie Scheler started in the circle for Rosebud-Lott. She allowed zero hits and zero runs over three innings, striking out six and walking one. With this victory, Rosebud-Lott has a record of 3-13 and a district record of 3-7. After playing the Holland Lady Hornets at home Tuesday, the Lady Cougars season will come to an end.
