Renovations, Parent Meetings, and Flood Relief Efforts at Rosebud-Lott ISD

Renovations to the Rosebud- Lott track and field are set to begin Tuesday, July 9, closing the area to all use until work is complete, according to school officials. The improvements are part of a broader effort to upgrade campus facilities ahead of the 2025-2026 school year.

In addition to facility updates, school leaders are urging parents of the Class of 2026 to attend a critical meeting on Wednesday, July 23, at 6 p.m. in the Rosebud-Lott Elementary School cafeteria. The meeting has been relocated due to ongoing renovations at the Middle/High School campus.

“This is a very important meeting where we’ll begin planning the upcoming school year,” said Coach Spencer, who will be leading the meeting.

“The senior trip is the first agenda item, and decisions could be made that night.”

Students are welcome to attend, but an adult representative is required. Questions may be directed to Coach Spencer at aspencer@rlisd. org.

Meanwhile, Principal Jerrod Barton, Ed.D., is asking all students entering grades 6–12 to verify their course selections via the Student Portal. Families are urged to notify the school of any issues by emailing Dr. Barton at jbarton@rlisd.org. Incoming sixth-grade students will not have access to the portal and should contact the school directly to verify their schedules.

“No schedule changes will be made once school starts unless it’s an error on our end,” Barton said. “I came back a week early to ensure schedules are perfect. We want a smooth start to a great year.”

Details regarding registration for the 2025–2026 school year will be released soon. For questions, families may contact Dr. Barton directly by phone at 254702-4571 or via email.

In a separate initiative, the Rosebud-Lott FFA is collecting H-E-B and Walmart gift cards to support families impacted by recent flooding in Texas.

Cash donations to purchase gift cards are also being accepted.

“We want to do what we can to help those affected,” said FFA advisor M. Teel.

“Thanks to everyone who has already donated — your generosity is appreciated.”

Donations can be coordinated through mteel@rlisd. org or by contacting an FFA officer. The next rounds of donations will be sent July 13 and July 18.
