Cross-Country Season Nearing The End
The Texas high school cross-country season is slowly winding down, as teams begin to finish meet competitions. Last week, area teams competed in meets held in Robinson, and Troy. Chilton’s Yarida De Leon finished big at the Robinson High School Invitational 2025 meet, placing first with a time of 11:53.9 in the Varsity Girls 2 Mile Run. Chilton as a team, placed sixth in the Varsity Girls 2 Mile Run.
Thorndale’s varsity girls had one of the best finishes this season, taking first place at the Robinson meet. Raven Sandoval, Skielee Bear, and Nadia Gonzalez finished in the Top 10 of the Varsity Girls 2 Mile Run.
Rosebud-Lott’s varsity girls CC team also competed in the Robinson meet, finishing 11th out of 15 teams. Salem Coker had the best time for the varsity girls, placing 39th out of 88 competitors, crossing the finish line in 15:04.0.
In the Varsity Boys 5K Run, Thorndale took seventh place, and Rosebud-Lott finished 10th out of 17 teams. Jamie Llanas had the best finish time (16:20.1) for Thorndale’s varsity boys team, placing fifth. Rosebud-Lotts Aiden Dominguez Cruz (19:05.3), and Angel Rodriguez (19:06.7) finished back-to-back in No. 51 and 52 places.
Chilton’s Jisiah Rivera finished No. 57 for the Pirates varsity boys team, with a time of 19:25.9.
The Milano Eagles CC teams competed in the 4th Annual Troy Trojan Invitational 2025. Cameron Yoe took part in the Giddings Camp Tejas Invitational 2025, held at Camp Tejas in Giddings.
