Falls Co. Approves ESD 1 Tax Increase in Special Election;
The polls have officially closed for the Tuesday, Nov. 4 Constitutional Amendment Election, and Falls County voted as follows:
Proposition 1: Passed with 976 for, 273 against
Proposition 2: Passed with 1030 for, 211 against
Proposition 3: Passed with 917 for, 330 against
Proposition 4: Passed with 977 for, 279 against
Proposition 5: Passed with 1,002 for, 244 against
Proposition 6: Passed with 821 for, 391 against
Proposition 7: Passed with 1,112 for, 138 against
Proposition 8: Passed with 1,093 for, 155 against
Proposition 9: Passed with 1,013 for, 218 against
Proposition 10: Passed with 1,152 for, 98 against
Proposition 11: Passed with 1,073 for, 179 against
Proposition 12: Passed with 945 for, 279 against
Proposition 13: Passed with 1,073 for, 182 against
Proposition 14: Passed with 869 for, 374 against
Proposition 15: Passed with 1,061 for, 186 against
Proposition 16: Passed with 1,092 for, 161 against
Proposition 17: Passed with 911 for, 313 against
Emergency Services District (ESD) 1: Adoption of a local sales and use tax in Falls County Emergency Services District 1 at a rate not to exceed one and one-half percent in any location in the district: Passed, with 363 for, 207 against.
Groesbeck ISD Bond, Proposition A received no votes for or against.
The City of Rosebud canceled its election, as all four incumbents were not challenged or contested. The following candidates are elected as follows: Council Member Place 1, Position 1- Stacy Maness; Council Member Place 1, Position 2- Randolph Burton; Council Member Place 2, Position 1- Owen Smith; Council Member Place 3, Position 2- Sharon Skupin.
The City of Lott canceled its election; two candidates certified as unopposed are elected as follows: Council member Walter “Red” Carson and Council member Thomas Stimmel.
Riesel ISD canceled its election; two candidates certified as unopposed are elected as follows: Trustee Ruth Anne Schroeder and Trustee Sierra Keller.
Voter Turnout
Falls County has 10,626 registered voters.
The unofficial early-voter turnout was 320 in-person voters and 3 mail-in ballots, for a total of 323 voters, which is 3.01% of those registered in the county.
The total voter turnout for this election was 1,838, 17.3% of the total registered voters in the county.
