Cougars Dominate All-District Football Team for 2025

Rosebud-Lott Cougar varsity football players dominated this year’s 13-2A, DI All-District Football Team. Topping the list was QB Pryce Rabroker, who earned a share of district MVP with Crawford’s A.J. Jenkins. Rabroker – the top passer in our central coverage area – threw for 1,662 yards and 23 touchdowns, and completed over 50 percent of his passes, helping lead the Cougars to a 4-1 district record, and 9-3 overall. He was the team’s second leading rusher with 809 yards on 106 carries, scoring 10 TDs. Rabroker was also nominated to the district’s all-academic team.

Joining the junior QB with top honors was sophomore RB Zaylon Wells, who received a share of Offensive MVP. Wells rushed for 1,219 yards on 154 carries, and scored 14 rushing touchdowns.

First team offense honors went to Bo McGinnis, Kaiden Johnson, Justin Portillo, Logan Tays, and Daniel Rincon.

The Defensive Newcomer of the Year honors went to sophomore DL Maleek Knox.

First team defense awards went to Brayden Warner, Labron Washington, and Bo McGinnis.

Second team defense honors went to Waylon Thigpen, Colby Colbert, Orrin Pomykal, Kaleb Chaney, Kaiden Johnson, Justin Portillo, and Logan Tays.

Cody Avant was the first team kicker.

Receiving honorable mention were Jackson Walker, Demarion Cummings, Luke Price, and Marcellis Cummings.

Academic All-District awards were given to Daniel Rincon, Dustin Reaux, Orrin Pomykal, Zaylon Wells, Rabroker, Carter Doskocil, Jonathan Cartwright, Justin Portillo, Cody Avant, C.J. Alexis, Bo McGinnis, Zach Schneider, Waylon Thigpen, Brayden Warner, and Luke Price.

R-L made it to the area round of the 2025 UIL football playoffs, and with so much talent coming back for 2026, look for the Cougars to make a deeper playoff run.
