Annie Dee Viola Marmon, 86, of New Salem, died Sunday, June 4, 2017, at a Temple Hospital. Services were held at 11am, Thursday, in New Salem Baptist Church near Rosebud. Rev. Don Fulton officiating. Burial will follow in Powers Chapel Cemetery. Mrs. Marmon was born March 9, 1931 in Franklin to Ulus D and Elva Butler Tipton. She graduated from Lott High School. She lived in Oklahoma and Dallas where she worked for Sears and Roebuck until her marriage to William Marmon on December 8, 1953. She was a homemaker, loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She was a Christian, loved her family, and served our Lord faithfully. She loved to read and her Bible was her favorite book. She was a member of New Salem Baptist Church, where she taught Sunday school and Vacation Bible School for many years. Her husband preceded her in death. She is survived by four sons, Albert Marmon of Cedar Springs, Kenneth Marmon and wife Cindy of Ratibor, William Marmon and wife Kim of New Salem, and James Marmon of Cedar Springs, two daughters, DeShannon Tays of Springtown and Glenda Ellis and husband Billy of Oenaville, 13 Grandchildren and 24 Great Grandchildren Memorials may be made to New Salem Baptist Church. Visitation was held from 6pm to 8 pm, Wednesday at Cook Gerngross-Green-Patterson Funeral Home in Rosebud.
