Charles Ed Ordner

Charles Ed Ordner age 88, of Westphalia, passed from this life on Tuesday afternoon, June 28, 2022. Charles was born in Westphalia on June 25, 1934 to his parents, Eddie and Irene Ordner. He married Greneta Frenzel on April 5, 1959.

Charles grew up in Westphalia and was a 1954 graduate of Lott High School.  He served two years active duty in the U.S. army followed by eight years in the National Guard. He and his wife lived in Temple and raised three children. He worked for Wilsonart International for over 32 years. After retiring they moved to their new home on their farm in Westphalia where he continued raising Polled Hereford cattle and staying very busy being the Westphalia Youth 4-H manager for 18 years. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus.

Charles was preceded in death by his parents.

Charles is survived by his wife, Greneta, of 63 years, and their three children, Dwayne (Joann) Ordner, Cheryl (Calvin) Wilde, Craig (Debbie) Ordner. He is also survived by his brothers R.L. (Carolyn) Ordner and Bernard (Carol) Ordner.

Charles is survived by his seven grandchildren, Joe (Courtney) Dimento, Frankie Dimento, Julie (Kenny) Hoerner, Brian (Courtney) Wilde, Steven (Shayne) Wilde, Zack Castlow, and Elizabeth Ordner.

He is also survived by his seven great-grandchildren, Savannah and Jordan Hoerner; Masyn and Charlotte Dimento; Hudson and Benjamin Wilde; and Ember Wilde.

A public viewing was held on Friday, July 1, 2022, at 8:30 a.m. at the Visitation Catholic Church in Westphalia; the rosary was followed by a Mass of Christian Burial with Rev. Darrell Kostiha.

Charles was laid to rest in St. Mary’s Cemetery in Westphalia.

Hewett-Arney Funeral Home in Temple is entrusted with these arrangements.
