Dan Larkin De Shazo

Dan Larkin De Shazo, 85, of Houston, passed away on Saturday, April 9, shortly after being diagnosed with lung cancer. 

Services will be held at 11:30 a.m. Thursday, April 14, at Cook-Gerngross-Green-Patterson Funeral Home in Rosebud. Rev. Phil Shuler will officiate. Burial will follow in Woodland Cemetery in Rosebud.  

Dan was predeceased by his parents, Loys Ray De Shazo and Carrie Lloyd Weatherby De Shazo; his sister, Lloyd Ray Terlouw; his daughter, Diane De Shazo Kato; and his son, Dane De Shazo.  

He is survived by his daughter, Denise Kaczorowski; his grandchildren, Lauren Garney, Nancy De Shazo, Danielle De Shazo, Cameron Kato, Kyle Kato; his daughter-in-law, Hyang Sun De Shazo; his nephew, Michael Terlouw and his niece, Catherine Terlouw.

Dan was born on Dec. 8, 1936, in Rosebud, to Loys Ray De Shazo and Carrie Lloyd Weatherby De Shazo. Dan spent his life working as a Social Psychotherapist. He took great pride in helping others throughout his lifetime, and especially enjoyed spending time with family and friends.  After semi-retirement, he moved back to his hometown of Rosebud where he became active with the First United Methodist Church and quickly gained many friends. Dan passed away in Houston where he was surrounded by loving family and friends.
