George J. Bell

George J. Bell, 91, of Rosebud, died Thursday, Feb. 17, 2022, in a Temple Hospital. 

Services were held Monday, Feb. 23, at Cook-Gerngross-Green-Patterson Funeral Home in Rosebud.  Rev. Don Fulton will officiate. Burial will follow in Powers Chapel Cemetery near Rosebud.

Mr. Bell was born April 30, 1930, in Rosebud to Tom and Erma Brown Bell. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps. He worked as a carpenter and painter for Rosebud Lumber Company and worked for the Rosebud-Lott ISD. He married Mary Jo Fleming and Edith Booher. He was a member of the Cedar Springs Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his wives; one son, Tommy Bell; two brothers, Harold Bell and James D. Bell; and one sister, Barbara Booher.

He is survived by one son, Robert Bell and wife Susan of Hewitt; two daughters, Mary Beth Stafford and husband Jimmy of Athens and Barbara Ann Nutt and husband Michael of McLean; one brother, Kenneth Bell of Rosebud; and one sister, Joyce Burks of Marlin; 10 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and 16 great-great-grandchildren.

Visitation was held on Sunday at the funeral home.
