Gertie Mae Gorman Allen

Funeral services for Mrs. Gertie Mae Gorman Allen will be held Saturday, September 5, 2020 at 1:00 p.m. at  Elm Grove Baptist Church, Marlin, Texas.  Viewing will be held Friday at Paul Funeral Home Chapel,  from 4:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.  Mask and social distancing will be required.  

Gertie was born in Marlin, Texas on August 2, 1934 to the late Leanna and Louis Gorman. 

She received her formal education in the Marlin School District.

After a stay in California, Gertie moved back to her home, Marlin.

Gertie served Christ faithfully at Elm Grove Baptist Church, where she served on the Usher Board until her health began to fail.

Gertie worked several years in the nursing field at Falls Community Hospital (formerly Torbett’s) and Golden Years Nursing Home.

Gertie was preceded in death by her parents: Leanna, Louis and Albessie Gorman, her son Raymond Gorman and sister Cathy Gorman Smith.

Gerties leaves to cherish her memory brothers: James (Valerie) Gorman of Lewisville, Texas; Harold (Eula) Gorman of Marlin, Texas; Alfred Carl (Elinda) Gorman of Savannah, Georgia; Louis (Frances) Gorman of DeFuniak Springs, Florida and sister Carrie (Stanley) Gorman Brooks of Katy, Texas. 2 Step-Granddaughters Delisa Hughes and Denise Richey of Austin TX and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
