Joe Henson

Joe Henson; 81 years, 11 months, 5 days; a long-time resident of Madisonville, TX; passed away Tuesday; June 2, 2020 in Mansfield, TX.  Graveside services are scheduled for 10AM on Saturday; June 6, 2020 at Allphin Cemetery in Madisonville, TX.  Bro. Joshua Crutchfield will officiate.

Joe was born June 28, 1938 in Briary, TX to Archie and Myrtle (McClain) Henson.  He graduated from Rosebud High School, married Joyce Fern Thornton on August 15, 1964, and was honorably discharged from the United States Army in 1967.  Joe worked in the transportation industry his whole life, and when he retired to Madisonville, he was an active member of The First Baptist Church.

Joe was preceded in death by his parents, wife, his brother John, and his sister, Wanda.  He is survived by his son, Joseph Henson (Melissa), his grandchildren, Holly Henson, Alex Henson, and Courtney Henson; his brother, Judge Art Henson (Barbara); his sisters, Lucille Hull and Peg Hamilton (Alton); his sister-in-law, Sue Thompson (Wayne); and numerous other family members.   

In lieu of flowers, donations in Joe’s memory can be given to The Alzheimer’s Foundation of America at 322 8th Avenue, 7th Floor, New York, NY 10001.
