Larry Bill Pirkle, 65, of Rosebud, died Sunday, June 25, 2017, at a Waco Hospice. Services were held at 2pm Thursday in Cook- Gerngross-Green-Patterson Funeral Home in Rosebud. Rev. Billy Joe Lambert and Rev. James Lambert officiating. Burial will follow in Powers Chapel Cemetery near Rosebud. Mr. Pirkle was born December 14, 1951 in Fort Worth to Billy Lee and Janet Meeks Pirkle. He grew up in Irving and lived most of his life in Whitney and Rosebud. He married Clara Lee Stimmel on February 2, 1973. He worked as a Diesel Mechanic for Darr Equipment in Waco and for American Airlines. He was a member of Transport Workers Union of America and Cedar Springs Baptist Church where he was a song leader. His father and one sister, Tammy Hoepfinger, preceded him in death. Memorials may be made to Little Deer Creek Baptist Church. His wife, Clara Lee Pirkle of Rosebud, survives him. Four daughters, Sherry Minor, Tracy Smith, Rona Papendorf and husband John, all of Waco, and Hope Young of Denton His Mother, Janet Rogers of Jacksboro, TN and step mother, Sandy Pirkle of Marlin One Brother: Raymond Pirkle of Manhatten, NY Six Sisters: Sharon Howeth of Fort Worth, Lynn Donely of Lewisville, Charlotte Rogers, Jody Denny and Robin Lloyd all of Hampton, Virginia, and Kim Link of Jacksboro, TN Eight Grandchildren and four Great Grandchildren Visitation was held from 1 to 2pm Thursday at the funeral home.
