LEOLA TILLIE KOMAR
Leola Tillie (Lindeman) Komar of Rosebud, Texas passed away on Tuesday July 15, 2025 in a Temple Hospital at the age of 90.
Leola was born in the Ben Arnold community to Ben and Martha (Krause) Lindeman on November 15, 1934. The family later moved to Burlington where she attended school as a child and graduated from Rosebud High School.
Leola was blessed with 52 years of marriage to John Carl (J.C.) Komar and welcomed
two children, Debra Lynn and Donald Carl Komar.
In addition to being a loving mother, wife and Granny, Leola worked for the Milam County Courthouse for 35 years, holding the District Clerk title for 21 of those years before retiring in 1998. She very much enjoyed that role and took pride in the title as well as interacting with the public. In the early years, she loved to go dancing and was an avid bowler even competing at times and loved sharing the sport with her grandchildren and greatgrandchildren. She never met a stranger and had a huge giving and loving heart to all who crossed her path making herself known as “Granny Komar” to all.
After living in Cameron for many years, she moved to Rosebud after the passing of her husband to settle in closer to her family. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Rosebud.
Leola is preceded in death by her parents, Ben and Martha Lindeman; husband, J.C. Komar; daughter, Debra Lynn “Debbie” Sims; brother, Lester Lindeman; sister, Irene Gelner; and granddaughter in law Crystal Sims.
Survived by her son, Don Komar; grandsons, Dusten Sims; Waylon Sims; Robby Sims and wife Melissa; Harley Sims and wife Ashley; Matthew Sims; Jack Komar and wife Maria; granddaughter Miranda Bean and husband Greg; 11 great-grandsons; 9 greatgranddaughters; 1 greatgreat granddaughter and 3 greatgreat grandsons.
Leola is also survived by her brother, Raymond Lindeman of Rockdale; sister in- law, Catherine Lindeman of Hearne; and sister in- law, Rose Marie Jaynes of Rosenberg along with numerous nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held on August 2, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. at the First United Methodist Church in Rosebud.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First United Methodist Church in Rosebud, Rosebud Volunteer Fire Department of any charity of your choice.
