Leslie Dale Scheffer

Leslie Dale Scheffer, 83, of Rosebud, died Saturday, May 2, 2020, in a Rosebud Nursing Home. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday at Woodland Cemetery in Rosebud. Rev. Dana Wilhelmsen will officiate.
Leslie was born February 21, 1937 to William Nicholas Scheffer and Frieda Catherine (Zipperlen) Scheffer. He was the youngest of six children. Leslie lived in Rosebud his entire life. He graduated from Rosebud High School in 1955. He married Ruth Abel on August 17, 1963. He retired from Rosebud Feed and Grain and stated a lawn mowing service in Rosebud. He cut many yards in the Rosebud area. He was a charter and lifelong member of First Lutheran Church in Rosebud.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, Ruth Sanders and Anita Scheffer, three brothers, Ruben Scheffer, Leonard Scheffer and Willie Scheffer.
He is survived by his wife, Ruth Scheffer, daughter, Brenda Rose, cousin, Martha White, seven nieces and nephews, brother in law, Alan Abel(Audrey), sister in law, Carol Emley (Dave), three special grandchildren, Zerlintia Shonta Moore, Andrew Calvin Moore Jr., and Julishia Jackson, two special great grandchildren, James Roughley and Jamiala Roughley.
He wants to recognize his special coon hunting friends. Jeff Hughes, Billy Mitchell, Robert Blackley, James Scott, G.B. White, Brian Coker, Nick Mackie, Margie Wright, Max Naumann, and Jeff Slovacek. A special thanks to the land owners  and people that allowed him to hunt and fish on their property for 58 years. He loved to fish, coon hunt, bird hunt, play volleyball and dominos.
Leslie appreciated his special friends, Matt and Joell Johnson, Bob and Diane Hoyle, Greg Tindell, Tom Schauer, Barry Sharp, Wade and Loreth Jackson.
Pallbearers will be: Donald Zipperlen, Wyatt Zipperlen, Rocky Hernandez, Donald Fulton, Rickey Ranspot, George Loa and Ken Hensel.
The family request memorials to be made to the charity of your choice, or Woodland Cemetery, First  Lutheran Church in Rosebud or Immanuel  Lutheran Church in Temple.
Viewing will be held from 1:00 to 7:00 p.m. Tuesday at Cook-Gerngross-Green-Patterson Funeral Home in Rosebud.
