Marguerite (Margaret ) Ernestine Mitchell

Marguerite (Margaret) Ernestine Mitchell, 95, of the Clarkson Community passed away

Thursday, September 14, 2017 in a Temple hospital.

Margaret was born August 16, 1922 in Forney, Texas to Claude Shaefer and Alma Pearl (Blasienz)  Robbins.  She was a Baptist.

Margaret attended the Clarkson School through Junior High and completed her

education at Cameron Yoe High School in Cameron, Texas where she graduated in 1939.

Margaret married Marion Mitchell on July 28, 1940 and they lived their entire

married life on their farm in Clarkson.

Margaret was a homemaker. She enjoyed cooking and baking, and her specialties

were pecan pies and chocolate chip and orange slice cookies, which were always

a hit around the holidays.  

She enjoyed working in the yard and tending to her flowers.  She always enjoyed her weekly trips to the beauty shop where she would visit with friends.  She could spend hours in the grocery store shopping for a few items while visiting with everyone about current events and the weather.  Her favorite past times were watching the soap operas after lunch and watching football every fall, especially her beloved Cowboys.

Margaret was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Marion Mitchell; her parents, Claude Shaefer and Alma Pearl (Blasienz)  Robbins; brothers, Claude Robbins, Jr. and Billy Robbins; her sisters, Virginia Massey, Elizabeth Burch, and

Peggy Robbins.

 Margaret is survived by her son, David and wife, Mary Ann of Clarkson; her grandson, Keith and his wife, Kristin; and three special great granddaughters, Kinsley, Kennedy, and Kyla.  She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Margaret loved her family especially her grandson and great granddaughters.
