Mary Elizabeth Radford Westerman

Mary Elizabeth Radford Westerman, 80, of Rosebud, passed away Thursday, June 9, 2022, at home with her loved ones by her side.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, June 18, at 10 a.m. and a Celebration of Life Service at 11 a.m., at New Salem Baptist Church, 429 County Road 309, Rosebud, Texas. A lunch will immediately follow services, and all are invited. Pastor Donald Fulton, a longtime family friend and pastor of New Salem Baptist Church, will officiate the services.

A private burial will take place on a later date at Powers Chapel Cemetery. Cook-Gerngross- Green-Patterson, 111 2nd St. in Rosebud, will officiate burial proceedings.

Mary was born Sept. 18, 1941, in Falls County to Hardy and Rose Fleming Radford.  She graduated from Lott High School in 1961.  She married the love of her life Edward Westerman on August 29, 1959.  In August, they would have been married 63 years. She accepted Christ as her Savior at a very young age and became a longtime, dedicated and faithful member of Cedar Springs Methodist Church.  She served in different roles in her church as Sunday school teacher, treasurer, secretary, custodial worker, and any and every way that she was needed.  She was a pillar and light in the Cedar Springs community and will be greatly missed.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Hardy and Rose Fleming Radford; siblings, Robert York, DH Radford, Marvin Radford, Marie Radford, Clarence Radford, Elenore and Earl Radford (twins), Rosie Rochelle and Sonny Radford.

Survivors include her husband, Edward Westerman of Cedar Springs; son, Dwayne Westerman and wife Lisa of Cedar Springs; son, Dennis Westerman and wife Angela of Lorena; grandchildren and great-grandchildren; sister, Ruby Bailey; life-long friend, Virginia Blakely Boyett; and a fur baby, Ms. Wiggles.

Pallbearers are Aaron Westerman, Eric Benson, and Leo Puente.  Honorary Pallbearers are Sammy Radford, Willie Bailey, David Nutt, Jimmy Body, Ricky Rochell, Ottie Rochell, Milt Milstead, Mike Milstead, Terry Westerman, Benny Westerman, and Doyle Westerman.

The family would like to thank Dr. Henderson and the Oncology Team with Baylor Scott & White in Temple. Thank You for always showing care and compassion to our Mom during her treatments.
