Melesio S. Tamez Jr.

Melesio S. Tamez Jr., 78, of Rosebud, died Saturday, March 27, 2021, at a Temple Hospital.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 31, 2021, at St. Ann Catholic Church in Rosebud. Rev. John Kelley will officiate. Burial will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery in Rosebud.

Mr. Tamez was born Sept. 9, 1942, in Barclay to Melesio and Juanita Salazar Tamez Sr. He lived all of his life in the Rosebud area. He married Mary Lou Marquez on July 1, 1968. He was a farmer and a member of St. Ann Catholic Church.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Lou Tamez of Rosebud; three sons, Carlos Tamez and Semon Tamez and wife Cheyenne, both of Rosebud, and Roman Tamez and wife Linda of England; three brothers, Claud Tamez of  Amarillo, Pete Tamez and David Tamez, both of Rosebud; four sisters, Suluma Ruiz of Hereford, Angie Cerda  of  Longview, Josie Riojas of Temple, and Janie Medrano of Rosebud; five  grandchildren, Nathan  Tamez, Andrew Tamez, Declan Tamez, Wyoming Tamez, and Logan Tamez.

Rosary will recited at 7 p.m. Tuesday at Cook-Gerngross-Green-Patterson Funeral Home in Rosebud.
