Nick J. Halunka

Nick J Halunka, 70, of Rosebud, died Tuesday, May 29, 2018 at his residence. Rosary was recited at 7:00 p.m. Friday, June 1, 2018 in Cook-Gerngross-Green-Patterson Funeral Home in Rosebud. Services were held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, June 2, 2018 in St. Ann Catholic Church in Rosebud. Rev. John Kelley officiating. Burial followed in Woodland Cemetery in Rosebud. Mr. Halunka was born in Rosebud, January 4, 1948, to Louis John and Dorothy Reese Halunka. He lived in Rosebud all of his life. He owned Halunka and Son Trucking and later worked as an independent trucker. He also farmed and ranched and presently worked in maintenance for Falls Community Hospital and Clinic in Marlin. He was preceded in death by a son, David Wayne Halunka; and step son, Bobby Skala. He is survived by two daughters, Melissa Ockleberry and DeeAnna Halunka both of Temple; Step son, Raymond Skala of Rosebud; and Step daughter, Peggy Lindemann of Temple; One Sister, Lois Kirkland of Rosebud; 14 Grandchildren and 11 Great Grandchildren. Pallbearers: Kyle Skala, Levi Skala, Josh Sammon, Westin Sammon, Michael Kelsey, Sean Sammon, David Tepe, Billy Tepe, Honorary Pallbearers: Mitch Fleming, James Hall, Carl Craft, Frankie Heiden, Mark Doskocil Memorials may be made to St. Ann Ladies Guild or Woodland Cemetery in Rosebud.
