Robert Lee Densman

Robert Lee Densman was born in Lott, Texas on November 5, 1928 to Causby Spencer Densman and Letha Frankum-Densman. He was the youngest son of 9 children and the last surviving sibling. Robert went home to be with the Lord on July 19, 2018. Robert was known as “Bob” to friends, “Uncle Sonny” to nieces and nephews and various other nicknames, i.e. “Cotton “, “Lee Robert”, and a couple of other nicknames known only to family members. He served in the Army during World War II as a medic in the surgery ward and was stationed most of his military career in Great Falls, Montana. Born to a family of sharecroppers, Robert was an entrepreneur at a very early age. His first business was shining shoes in downtown Marlin, Texas to help supplement his family’s income. He owned a working man’s café known as Densman’s Grill and a subsequent restaurant, both in Pasadena, Texas for approximately 30 years before semi-retiring in Livingston, Texas in the year 1974. There he purchased and drove a dump truck before finding his niche’. Robert purchased existing boat storage units and additional property to eventually expand his business to 174 rentable boat and RV storage units known as Bob’s Boat Storage. Robert married Daphana (Dal) Laverne Springer on January 26, 1952. They were married a total of 64 years before the Lord took Dal home in 2016. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather and worked hard all his life to provide for his family. Robert was a member of the Revival Center Church of God in Onalaska, Texas. He was the only remaining charter member of that congregation. Robert enjoyed spending time in fellowship with his church family until his health prevented him from doing so. Robert is preceded in death by his wife, Daphana Laverne (Dal) Densman, his parents, Causby Spencer Densman and Letha Frankum-Densman, sisters, Annie Faye Peterson, Lillie Mae Angle, Ethel Pauline Roberts, brothers, Jessie Claude (Jack) Densman, Alfred Wilma (Tince) Densman, Thomas Spencer Densman, and Raymond Ruben (Booger) Densman and a baby sister that died shortly after birth. Robert is survived by his children, Rena Gay Tate and Robin Keith Densman and his son’s close friend Lori Guerra, son-in-law, Larry Neal Tate, grandchildren, Jason Michael Milliken and wife, Jill Christine Milliken, Nicholas Brandon Densman, Kristen Nicole Densman; great grandchildren, Rylee Christine Milliken, Ethan Michael Milliken, Molly Jane Elizabeth Milliken, Ella Faith Milliken and Jensen Charles Milliken. He is also survived by many cousins, nieces and nephews. Pallbearers are Shelton Krumnow, Craig Thomas, Randy Angle, Ronnie Springer, Danny Densman and Louis Fresquez. Funeral Services was held Saturday, July 28, 2018 at Adams Funeral Home in Marlin, Texas.
