Ruth Dupree

Ruth Dupree, 91, passed away Monday, Dec. 20, 2021. Graveside services were held on Thursday, Dec. 23, at Clover Hill Cemetery in Lott with Noel Johnson officiating. 

Ruth was born June 1, 1930, to C.J. and Marietta (Hailey) Sudduth in Lott. She grew up and graduated from Lott High School in 1947 with LaVerne Becker Wideman who is a fellow church member to this day at First Presbyterian in Lott. Her parents owned the Western Fair in Lott for many decades. She also worked at her aunt Bobbie and uncle Rolla Will’s Movie Theater and had great times there. Ruth married R.C. Dupree on Jan. 18, 1952, in Lott at the First Presbyterian Church where all kids were also baptized. The congregation holds precious memories to the Dupree family and they have a great admiration for everyone there. 

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, R.C. Dupree; and son, Craig Dupree.

Ruth is survived by her daughter, Mary Beth Dugger; son, Kyle Dupree and wife Jessica; grandchildren, Nikki Dugger and partner Cedric, Jordan Dugger; and great-grandson, Jaylon Lee.
