Shari Denise Daniel

Shari Denise Daniel, age 55, of Westphalia, passed away peacefully at her home during the early morning hours of Friday, May 31, 2019, with her family by her side. Born the 6th day of March 1964 in Texarkana, Texas, she was the daughter of Leighton and Beryl (Gammon) Ward. In her early life Shari attended school in Austin at John Reagan High School and was proud to be a Reagan Raider. Shari met Joe Daniel in Bastrop, Texas, on July 13, 1996. He had gone for a haircut and ended up talking with Shari’s sister who in turn introduced him to Shari. From that time on, Joe and Shari have walked through life together enjoying the company of one another. Joe and Shari made their union binding on April 23, 2010 in Las Vegas, Nevada at none other but a hair show for barbers and stylists. Shari loved cutting and styling hair. She made it her career for the past 37 years. She has owned and operated “Shear Delight Family Hair Salon” in Westphalia for the past 10 years. When Shari was not cutting hair she enjoyed fishing, camping and going to the coast. Shari loved the outdoors and all that nature had to offer. Every now and then you could find Joe and Shari sneaking off to Shreveport to play a slot machine or two as well. Shari was devoted to her family. She loved her husband, her kids and especially her grandkids so very much. The desire to take care of people as well as the love and devotion she showed to her family will be the legacy that those who knew and loved Shari will carry on for generations to come. Shari was a member of the Church of Christ and has been a resident of Westphalia since 2008. She is preceded in death by her parents Leighton and Beryl. Shari leaves behind her husband, Joe Daniel of Westphalia; son, Justin Wylie and wife Lyndsey of Buda; daughter, Erin Daniel of San Angelo; as well as three sisters, Charlotte Merrill and husband Kevin of Ashdown, Ark., Carol Driggers and husband Nathan of Bastrop, Texas, and Tammy Jackson of Texarkana, Texas.
