Victor Tamez Sr

Victor Tamez Sr., 77, of Rosebud, died in peace on Saturday, October 27, 2018, at his residence. Services were held at 2:30 p.m. Monday, November 5, 2018 at St. Ann Catholic Church in Rosebud. Father Jim Robertson officiated. Burial followed in Sacred Heart Cemetery in Rosebud. Mr. Tamez was born December 23, 1940 in Rosebud to Melesio and Juanita Salazar Tamez Sr. He lived in Rosebud all of his life. He was in partnership with the Tamez Brothers farming & wrecking yard. He was a member of St. Ann Catholic Church and a member of B.F.&M Cooperative, Inc. He will be remembered for his amazing strength during his journey battling cancer. A special Thank You to Baylor Scott & White Medical Center, Temple, TX, MD Anderson, Houston, TX and to all family & friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings, (Brothers) Juanito & Domingo, (Sisters) Angelita, Margarita & Jesusa. He is survived by a son, Victor Tamez Jr and wife Maricela of San Antonio, Two daughters, Rebecca (Becky) Ann Castilleja and husband Ray, and Rachel Tamez Luna and husband Bruce both of Temple. Four brothers, Claude Tamez Sr of Amarillo, Melesio Tamez Jr, Pete Tamez Sr, and David Tamez all of Rosebud, Four sisters, Sulema Ruiz of Herford, Angie Cerda of Longview, Josie Riojas of Temple, and Janie Medrano of Rosebud. 9 Grandchildren, Faith Guerra, Victor Tamez III, Aryelle Tamez, Anthonie Tamez, Hannah Molina, Alicia Tamez, Sebastian Castilleja, Mia Tamez & Mikaella ”Mika” Tamez, 6 Great Grandchildren, Andrew Molina-Cortez, Arian Rivera, Mabry Molina, Annabella Hamilton, Elena Guerra & Novalynn Hamilton. Rosary was recited at 6:00 p.m. Sunday, November 4, 2018, at Cook-Gerngross-Green-Patterson Funeral Home in Rosebud. Serving as Pallbearers were Victor Tamez Jr, Ray Castilleja, Bruce Luna, Victor Tamez III, Thomas Guerra, and James Hamilton Honorary Pallbearers were Sebastian Castilleja, Andrew Molina-Cortez, and Arian Rivera Many Friends and Family came from afar to pay their respects and honor to Mr. Tamez. The immediate family wishes to thank everyone who was in attendance and all those who offered words of sympathy and condolences. They especially want to thank all those who helped coordinate the services.
