Willie James Shields

Willie James Shields, 72, of Rosebud, died Monday, June 25, 2018, at a Temple Hospital. Visitation was held from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m Monday, July 2 2018 at the Cook-Gerngross-Green- Patterson Funeral Home. Services were held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, July 2, 2018 at Cook-Gerngross-Green-Patterson Funeral Home in Rosebud with Rev. Charles Clark officiating. Burial will follow in Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery in Killeen. Mr. Shields was born August 28, 1945 in Rosebud to Carrie Lee Page and Ira Shields. He graduated from Wilson White High School in Rosebud and Nursing School at Temple College. He married Belta Quinata on December 31, 1975. He served in the US Army and retired with the rank of Sergeant First Class. He managed the Cliff Roberts Apartments in Rosebud and worked as a Licensed Vocational Nurse. He is survived by his wife, Belta Shields of Rosebud Five daughters, Youlanda Taylor and husband Tim of Fort Worth, Adrienne Thurmon and husband Richard of Iola, Alma Lynn Shields of Cameron, Lonnie Shields of Dallas, and Teresa Ortiz and husband Thomas of Branchville. His mother, Carrie Lee Page of Rosebud Four brothers, Victor Shields and wife Marie of Munday, Floyd Shields and wife Ola Marie of Abilene, Jerry Shields of San Antonio, and Dave Shields and wife Gloria of Missouri City Seven Sisters, Mary Barnes of Wichita Falls, Norma Spells and husband Donald of Abilene, Joyce Williams and husband James of Munday, Linda Shields and husband Tommy of Reno, Nevada, Bernice Adams and husband Daniel of San Antonio, Vickie Shields and husband Robert of Phoenix, Arizona, and Lela Wright and husband Paul of Stamford 11 Grandchildren 2 Great Grandchildren
