Are you killing time?

Hector Berling once made this statement--”Time is a great teacher but unfortunately it kills all of its pupils!

Sometimes people are heard to say they are just “killing time”  but time cannot be killed. In spite of millions who say they are “killing time,”  time is still flying by at a breakneck speed.

Every second takes us further along the river of time that in the end carries us into the ocean of eternity. Every day that we live, twenty four non-renewable hours disappear, never to be seen again.

Benjamin Franklin said, “Lost time is never found again.”

We are fooling ourselves if we think that we can kill time when in reality it is killing us.

We can use time or abuse time but we cannot kill time. With every tick tock of the clock time is slowly running out.

For that very reason the Bible admonishes us to make the most of the time that God has given us.Our most precious treasure is not silver or gold, but it is TIME.

Paul writes, “See that ye walk circumspectly, not as fools but as wise, redeeming the time because the days are evil.” (Ephesians 5:15-16) Jesus made the most of His time.

He said, “I must work the works of Him that sent me while it is yet day; the night cometh when no man can work.”

(John 9:4) Jesus was never in ahurry, but neither was He ever found “killing time.”

We can’t afford to kill time because  the truth of the matter is, we have no time to kill. We should always make the most of every second of every minute of every hour of the day because someday there will be no more time.
