Are your lamps all trimmed and bright?

A true story is told of a village in the Swiss Alps, where a wealthy man wished to give a gift to the towns people where he lived. He opted to build a beautiful church building.

No expense was spared, the finest workmen were hired and they had the finest building materials to use.

The townspeople admired the beauty of the church building, it was a most impressive structure. However, there was a glaring flaw! The people noticed there were no lamps in the building and with not many windows, the building was dark.

The man pointed to the brackets on the walls and explained that each family was to bring a lamp to services and place on the bracket closes to where they would be sitting and there would be lots of light!

However, if they did not show up for worship that area of the church would be dark. He had done this to remind them of the importance of each member of the church to be present for every service.

How about you? Are your lamps all trimmed and bright? Does your area of the church building have enough light?
