Autumn’s Blessings (God’s Blessings)

This cool weather change is just what we needed to get into the spirit of fall and the holidays. God sure knew what He was doing when He gave us the seasons. Every year after a long hot summer in central Texas, we always look forward to cooler weather. 

We now know it is almost Thanksgiving, Christmas and decorating for all of these things. It seems when we get all of the decorating done for one holiday, it is time to take those decorations down and decorate for another holiday. When you see the gorgeous colors of the trees and feel the crisp cool air on your skin, you forget all the trouble of taking down and putting up again.

Think about the Christian walk with God. When we follow God for an entire lifetime, we know that our lives have many ups and downs. We all face hurdles in life. There is illness in our own lives, loss of loved ones, job loss or change, births of babies, moving from one place to the other, family relationships, and the list could go on and on. 

The Apostle Paul writes, “Let us not become weary in well doing, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.” (Galatians 6:9) As we all approach this special time of year, make sure you reach out to someone. Life can be tough, especially if you are alone.
