Looks like spring intends to be early this year, but mind you, that is just an observation, not a prediction! March 2nd is a great day for Texas because it marks the day that we celebrate Texas Independence Day, which is the celebration of the adoption of the Texas Declaration of Independence on March 2, 1836. That early morning was frigid and gray; cutting winds blew across the prairie. This group of settlers that called themselves “Texians”, huddled close to the fire and gave birth to a dream. At the Town of Washington, now known as Washington-on-the-Brazos, fifty-nine representatives voted to create a sovereign nation.
