Jesus cares

Babe Ruth hit 714 home runs in his baseball career, but on one particular day he dropped the ball in the outfield several times allowing the other team to score five runs.

After the third out and the team was coming off the field the crowd gave angry cries and boos toward Babe Ruth. As quick as a flash a young boy went over the fence and onto the playing field and ran to Babe Ruth. He put his arms around his legs and gave him a big hug. Babe Ruth picked up the little boy and gave him a big hug and the crowd became so quiet you could hear a pin drop.

When you are faced with set-backs in life, what do you do?

Jesus says, “I have told you these things so that in Me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.” (John 6:33)

Jesus tells us to “Take Heart!” He is there to give you comfort and a hug for what you do.

This world is not our home. The world may not cheer us on in our good work. We may not always be successful. We do have a home in heaven that is kept secure by our Lord. We must give our best and be obedient to His will.

Someone put it this way: “Jesus is a Friend who walks in when the world has walked out!”
