Let’s give thanks

Thanksgiving is a very special holiday for so many people. For so many , it is a special time that we get together with friends and family and give thanks to God for all we have and all we enjoy in life.

We outh to take this time and focus on the Giver and all that He has provided for us. I hope that we all invite God to be present at our tables and celebrate this wonderful holiday with grateful hearts.

There once was a lady that was picking through the frozen turkeys at the local grocery store, but she was unable to find one big enough for her family. She asked the stockboy, “Do these turkeys get any bigger?” The stock boy looked a little puzzled but politely replied to the lady, “No ma’am, there as big as they are going to get - they’re dead!”

So it is with many this Thanksgiving when it comes to giving thanks to God. They are not growing, they are dead. So, on this Thursday, as we sit in front of the TV, we enjoy all the good food and watch the Dallas Cowboys and the Macy Day Parade, let’s make sure we stop and realize where all of these blessings come from, not only today, but every day and give thanks to the One that has made this all possible. Happy Thanksgiving to each and everyone.
