Let your light shine

Many years ago there was a new preacher that moved to Houston, Texas. 

On occasions he rode the bus from his home to the downtown area. He sat down and noticed that the driver had given him a quarter too much in change. 

He considered what to do. 

“I need to give the quarter back....it would be wrong to keep it.” 

Then he thought, “It is only a quarter. The bus fare is too high as it is.” 

He just was not sure. When he came to his stop, he paused at the door and gave the quarter to the bus driver, explaining that he had been given too much change. 

The driver replied with a smile, “aren’t you the new preacher down the street? I’ve beem thinking about visiting your worship services some time. I wanted to see what you would do if I gave you a little extra change. I will see you at worship this Sunday!” 

The preacher stepped off the bus and grabbed hold of a nearby light pole and held on thinking, Oh God, I almost sold your Son for a quarter! 

Our lives are the only Bible some people may ever read. This is a really scary example of how much people watch us as Christians and will put us to the test. Always be on guard and remember that you carry the name of Christ on your shoulders  as you wear the name: CHRISTIAN!
