Thanking God

The holidays are now behind us and we look forward to a New Year.

I hope that each and everyone of us realizes just how much we have to be thankful for. Someone once noted that the worst possible moment for an atheist is when he feels grateful and has no one to thank.

God has blessed us in ways too numerous to count. We all benefit from God’s goodness to us on a daily basis. From food on the table to faith in the heart to forgiveness of our sins, God has poured blessing upon blessing upon us. Everyday we live, we feast on the finest that God has to give. God wants us to be a grateful people. There is always something to thank God for.

Thank God for dirty dishes, they have a tale to tell;
while other folks go hungry, we’ve eaten mighty well.
With home and health and happiness, I shouldn’t want to fuss,
by the stock of evidence, Gods been very good to us.

As the Apostle Paul writes, “In everything give thanks, for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.” (I Thessalonians 5:18) As we all look forward to the New Year 2023, we wish everyone nothing but the best and hope you have the best year ever.
