Burn Ban in Effect

(Oct. 6, 2025) – Falls County Judge Jay T. Elliott issued a local disaster declaration Monday due to the threat of wildfires fueled by drought and severe weather conditions. The declaration activates emergency plans and allows for emergency measures to protect lives and property.

Cross-Country Season Nearing The End

The Texas high school cross-country season is slowly winding down, as teams begin to finish meet competitions. Last week, area teams competed in meets held in Robinson, and Troy. Chilton’s Yarida De Leon finished big at the Robinson High School Invitational 2025 meet, placing first with a time of 11:53.9 in the Varsity Girls 2 Mile Run. Chilton as a team, placed sixth in the Varsity Girls 2 Mile Run.
