Apart, We Stand Together

RLISD participates COVID-19 TEA movement

Rosebud Lott ISD released a statement on April 8 releasing updated information on the impact of COVID-19 on schools.

“Things are flowing along nicely in our new routine,” said Superintendent Dr. Steve Brownlee. “But it is just not the same without that personal interaction with our RLISD Family.”

He announced that an information outreach program had been put together by the Texas Education Agency and that RLISD would be participating.

A video from the campaign was shared that reminds viewers how important social distancing is and why Texans should work together to stop the spread of the novel coronavirus. The video, put together by the Texas Education Agency in partnership with Texas Health and Human Services and the State Department of Health Services, can be found by heading to RLISD.org and checking under “Latest news”

This guidance is based on what scientists know about how to prevent the spread of COVID-19.

  • To be able to effectively kill the virus cells, you must wash your hands thoroughly and vigorously for at least 20 seconds.
  • While it is important to wash your hands, it is also important to regularly disinfect surfaces. COVID-19 has been shown to live for up to three days on various surfaces.
  • If you must leave your home for essential services, be sure to wash your hands as soon as you return and disinfect any surfaces you may have touched.
  • If someone in your home is ill, it’s also important to regularly disinfect.

Continue doing all you can to follow social distancing and hygiene practices and share resources with your friends and family. The whole point of the outreach program is to remind communities that everyone will have to work together in order to stop the spread. Everyone needs to do their part to flatten the curve.
