Advancing to State
Nathan Truesdale was the only Cougar to make it past the finals of this weekend’s regional track meet. He placed third in the 400-meter dash and will continue on to State-level competition. Many athletes competed in both track and field events. Jamarquis Jordan made it to the finals of both the 100- and 200-meter dash, as did Jordan Landrum in the 300-meter hurdles. The three of them, along with Carlos Saucedo, made up the 4x100-meter relay team that made it to the finals as well. Johnathon Adamez and Jason Allison both participated in the finals-only 800-meter dash as well. Easton Fulton set a personal record of 124’07 in the discus competition, where he came out fourth. Mercedes Buhl was the only female athlete to advance to the finals, running her heart out in the 100-meter dash. She placed seventh despite being less than one second behind the first place runner.
