Big trip in the wing for the Lady Coogs

ROSEBUD-LOTT LADY COUGARS

The Rosebud-Lott Lady Cougars have always been a solid team in volleyball and have annually made trips into the State playoffs.  They have had competitive teams in the sport because of a solid talent base. The 2017 season should be no different, as the Lady Coogs again appear to be talent laden.

Head Coach Amanda Spencer has her team playing well early on and that bodes well for them in district play. She also has a special trip planned for the Lady Cougars who will travel to play in the ESPN Volleyball Classic. She is taking 10 members of the Varsity group to compete. That invitation demonstrates the level of esteem that the program has gained across the State.

With an experienced veteran group, Coach Spencer has a team that will challenge the others for the top spot in the district. With the likes of Moody, Chilton, Waco Rapoport, Bremond, Waco Harmony, and the two Class 1A teams Oglesby and Calvert, each night will be a fight.

The Lady Cougars and Moody are most likely the preseason favorites with Bremond and Chilton in a fight for 3rd.

However things can change overnight in this topsy turvy district and often does. The Lady Cougars have a winning tradition on their side and this year’s team looks to continue that trend.

Good luck this week Lady Coogs and have a safe and enjoyable trip to the ESPN Classic. “Rolo Lady Cougars”. We will have more information on the Lady Coogs trip in next weeks issue.
