Cougars take fourth in Salado Tournament

On Tuesday, Dec. 3, the Cougar basketball team defeated Manor New Tech in a home matchup. 

Steven Buhl led his team with 19 points, 10 rebounds, and five steals. Zach Buhl had 14 points, five rebounds, and took some steals as well. John Reyna had eight points, five rebounds, and four steals. 

Other Cougars who helped their team with the win were Nick Bravo, Jose Perez, Jassiel Cortez, Nathan Truesdale, Johnathan Adamez, and Kameron Salssicia. 

The Cougars final score was 50-44.

The Cougars then traveled to the Salado Tournament over the weekend of Dec. 5-7. 

They started it off with a 44-28 win over Gatesville in the opening round. In the second round, they defeated Jarrell in a close 51-45 win. Then they took a tough loss against Salado with a final score of 34-54. 

The Cougars played for third place in the tournament against Cameron but came up short with a final score of 52-58 to take fourth place overall.

On Tuesday, Dec. 10, the Cougars will take on Rockdale at home. JV will start it off at 5 p.m. with Varsity to follow. Then the Cougars will head to Centerville for another tournament on Dec. 12-14.
