Cross-Country Teams Conclude Season at State Meet
High School cross-country teams concluded their seasons at the state crosscountry meet that was held at Old Settlers Park in Round Rock this past weekend.
Cameron Yoe (Class 3A) finished 16th as a team in the 5,000 meter run, led by Esteban Luna, who finished 66th with a time of 17:24.50; Ricardo Reyes finished 96th with a time of 17:56.00; Steven Marquez III placed 117th with his time of 18:18.30; Marbel Reducindo took the 144th spot with a time of 19:49.80; Vicente Sanchez placed 145th with a time of 20:01.20; Adrian Vargas crossed the finish line in 147th with a time of 20:18.70, and Ethan Jacoby placed 150th with a time of 21:15.30.
The big three from Thorndale (Class 2A) had a good run at state. Raven Sandoval finished 25th in the two-mile run with a time of 12:40.20, to lead the Lady Bulldogs, followed by teammate Skielee Bear (48th) with a time of 13:03.30, and Nadia Gonzalez (91st) with a time of 13:46.40.
Chilton’s Yarida De Leon put in an elite performance in the Class 2A girls division. She finished fourth overall with a time of 11:51.60 in the two-mile run.
