Dig, Bump, Strike, as Area Teams Battle it Out in Volleyball

Several area teams have faired well over the past week in volleyball. Let’s take a look at how matches panned out!

Thorndale Lady Dogs Saturday, Sept. 6

JV team split matches on Saturday, winning 2-0 over Normangee, but falling to Thrall, 2-1.

Friday, Sept. 5

The Lady Dogs hosted the Thrall Lady Tigers, and came out on top 16-25, 2517, 20-25, 25-16, 15-11. The JV Gold team swept Thrall 25-12, 25-18, but the JV Maroon lost in two sets, 17-25, 17-25.

Thursday, Sept. 4

In middle school volleyball, the 8th Grade swept Granger in two, 25-10, 25-8; Seventh graders swept Granger as well, 25-15, 25-8; The combined 7th and 8th grade team won their match over Granger, 25-10, 22-25, 15-5.

Tuesday, Sept. 2

The Lady Dogs took fell to Savio in four sets, 25-14, 20-25, 21-25, 18-25; JV Maroon dropped their match in three sets, 25-18, 22-25, 18-25; JV Gold team won their match over Savio, 23-25, 25-13, 15-3.

Rosebud-Lott Lady Cougars Friday, Sept. 5

The match against McDade was cancelled.

Tuesday, Sept. 2

R-L defeated the Waco Meyer Lady Ravens in four sets, 25-16, 25-19, 21-25, 25-20.

Buckholts Lady Badgers Tuesday, Sept. 2

The No. 19 ranked Lady Badgers (6-2-1) swept the Still Creek Christian Lady Colts, 25-11, 254, 25-5.

Cameron Yoe Lady Yoemen Friday, Sept. 5

The Lady Yoemen went on the road and defeated Bruceville-Eddy in four sets, 25-21, 25-18, 23-25, 25-21, to improve to 17-7 on the season.

Tuesday, Sept. 2

The MIlano Lady Eagles visited Cameron Yoe, but the Lady Yoemen got down to business, defeating them with a sweep in three, 28-26, 25-18, 25-9.

Milano Lady Eagles Friday, Sept. 5

The Milano Lady Eagles remained on the road, traveling to Somerville, and played hard for four sets before bowing out to the Lady Yeguas, 25-18, 14-25, 23-25, 22-25.

Tuesday, Sept. 2

The Lady Eagles fell to Cameron Yoe in three sets, 26-28, 18-25, 9-25.

Marlin Lady Bulldogs Friday, Sept. 5

Marlin hosted the Texas Wind varsity girls volleyball team, and blew them away in four sets, 25-14, 25-16, 18-25, 25-7, to move to 11-10 on the season.
