Don’t Count the Days… Instead Make Everyday Count

I am as guilty of it as the next person because I often find myself counting the days to something,

Whether it’s the days until football season, to Thanksgiving, Christmas, or even as far ahead as the end of the school year. It always seemed to me that when I watched the clock time moved a lot slower than it would otherwise.

I know it’s just my imagination but these days the time seem to pass more quickly than ever before. I know that’s strange coming from someone who teaches that scientifically time today is not passing at any faster rate than previously. It just seems that way maybe because I’m the one getting older.

The scientist in me wants to say climate change has affected the seasons to such an extent that we now see them overlap each other bringing about a greater awareness of things like the sunsets and sun rises.

I have a proposal, remember it’s just my opinion, why don’t we instead of counting the days try to make each day count for something?

It doesn’t have to always be some grand gesture on your part but at the end of the day when you reflect back, can you see one way that you’ve made this day count?

If everyone made a conscious effort to make each day meaningful in some way the effect it could have on the world as a whole could be outstanding. Making the days count in what we say, what we do, how we act, how we treat others, and how we reach out to those in need of our assistance can help build the world we all dream about.

It is during troubled times that we most act like a true nation, indivisible. People everywhere make an effort to make the day count for many others. That’s what we need to do each day, make days count, not count days.

I, for one, am going to try to do my best to make my today and my tomorrow count. Then we will see where it goes from there.
