Lady Cougars get 13-3 victory over Holland Lady Hornets
The Rosebud-Lott Lady Cougars softball team took on the Holland Lady Hornets on Tuesday. The Lady Cougars asserted their will over Holland on their way to a massive 13-3 victory.
Rosebud-Lott got on the scoreboard in the first inning, scoring two. Ava Hrabal doubled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring the first run. The second run came on the next at bat with a double by Kiara Walker on a hard ground ball to center field to make the lead 2-0.
Lady Cougars put up four runs in the second inning and another four in the third inning. The second inning barrage came from Holland fielding error, and RBI (runs batted in) groundout, a single by Gracie Doskocil, and a triple by Mercedes Buhl. The offensive onslaught in the third inning came from doubles by Jacqueline Salazar, Kayley Robertson, and Kiara Walker and a triple by Hrabal. With a two run fifth inning and a one run sixth inning, Rosebud-Lott sealed the 13-3 victory.
The Lady Cougars racked up 16 total hits on the day. Jacqueline Salazar, Ava Hrabal, Kiara Walker, Mercedes Buhl, and Kayley Robertson each managed multiple hits. Walker, Hrabal, and Salazar all had three hits to lead the team. Salazar got the win on the mound for Lady Cougars. She went six innings, allowing three runs on five hits and striking out two.
