Lady Cougars move to 5-2 on season with loss to Marlin
The Lady Cougars started the week off with a devastating loss against the Marlin Lady Bulldogs that went all the way to five sets.
Then they started it back up by dominating the Hearne Eagles in three straight sets to pick up their 5th district win (25-14, 25-13, and 25-10).
The whole team had an astonishing 10 service aces with Rakasia Buhl serving 3 of those. Jenna Kleypas led her team in attacks with 6 kills with Hannah Willberg right behind her with 5 total. Emma Hering and Clara Coker both had 4 kills and McKenzie McGinniss and Anissa Cavitt both had 3 kills. The team had a combined 27 kills total.
The Lady Cougars are starting the second round of district play on Tuesday when they are traveling to take on the Chilton Pirates at 5 p.m. with JV and varsity following.
Then they will host Calvert at home on Friday, Oct. 11, with varsity starting it off at 4 p.m. In the first round of conference play, they beat both teams in three straight sets.
