Local Teams Geared Up and Ready for Battle on the Hardwood
Local teams are getting geared up and ready to battle against opponents on the hardwood this week, and over the weekend. Lots of teams are playing in tournaments the first weekend here in December.
Switching from the gridiron to the hardwood, the Cameron Yoe Yoemen are off to a good start at 2-0. In girls basketball, both Thorndale’s Lady Dogs, and Chilton’s Lady Pirates are at 5-1 so far this season. Both teams will be in tournament action this coming weekend.
Yes, it’s that time of year for basketball tournaments, and most all area teams will be involved in tournament play this weekend.

November 24th Boys
Cameron Yoe picked up their second win of the season, beating the Moody Bearcats, 34-30, to move to 2-0.
Marlin dropped a close game to Groesbeck on the road. The Goats came out on top, 43-40, over the Bulldogs.
Milano fell to Hearne in a battle of the Eagles, 62-32, at Hearne.
The Thorndale Bulldogs started their season with a 61-37 road win over Rogers.
Girls The Cameron Yoe Lady Yoemen fell to the Granger Lady Lions 48-18, to move to 2-4 on the young season.
Chilton’s Lady Pirates wiped out Florence, 55-17, at home.
Rosebud-Lott Lady Cougars lost to Lampasas, 40-27, on the road.
The Milano Lady Eagles put up a hard fight against Bruceville-Eddy on the road, but it would be B-E taking the 25-21 win.
Thorndale’s Lady Dogs slipped by Central Texas Christian, 26-22, at home. The win puts the Lady Dogs at 5-1 so far this season.
November 25th Boys
Milano dropped a heartbreaker to Somerville, 5623, moving to 0-3 on the season.
Thorndale’s Bulldogs improved to 2-0 after bombing Thrall, 74-30. The JV Dogs won their game against Thrall, 73-31.
Girls
Chilton Lady Pirates improved to 5-1 after crushing the Cherokee Lady Indians, 49-15, on the road.
Rosebud-Lott’s Lady Cougars picked up a hugh win over Bruceville-Eddy, 56-20.
Milano’s Lady Eagles lost to Groesbeck on the road, 51-17.
November 29th Boys
Marlin picked up their first win of the season, defeating Rosebud-Lott 51-44.
