No Love for Tigers in this House; One Lucky Game Winner is Going to Receive a Bell
Hello Sports Fans!
Miss me? I would say I missed you, but it hard to miss anything on a sandy beach with an umbrella drink in your paw. (Hey, at least one of us was doing something enjoyable last week!)
So OK, let’s recap where we stand in the wonderful world of the Milam and Falls counties. Before taking my week off I correctly predicted three of the four games. For the season that gives me a pretty decent mark of 14-6, or about 70 percent. But hey, if we’re rounding up, that’s close to 90 percent . . .
Yeah, ok. Let’s get this week going.
Rockdale at Cameron What is it about playing the guys right down the road? I don’t know but it always feels like there’s a little something extra on the line, like a big shiny bell. Sure, it’s always big when it’s a District 11-3A contest, and Battle of the Bell week. But this is also about who gets to brag when they see each other hanging out somewhere.
I also don’t know what it is about Rockdale, but can’t say I’m a fan. Maybe it’s the name Tigers. Never liked Missouri either.
C’mon Yoemen. Show me what you got! I got CHS by two in a thriller.
Marlin at Riesel
Whoever loses in this District 13-2A matchup is going to have a tough time.
Both teams are struggling and neither is having the kind of year they wanted.
Frankly, we could care less about the Riesel Indians. We are openly rooting for our Marlin Bulldogs.
That said, home field gives the nod to Riesel . . .but just barely . . . by one.
Rosebud-Lott at Bruceville-Eddy
The Cougars are still looking at a potential District 13-2A title and after a tough contest last week get a bit of a break with Bruceville-Eddy.
IF THEY DON’T OVERLOOK THE EAGLES.
Oh don’t be one of those snowflakes who boo-hoos over caps. This is football man! Suck it up and tough it out.
RL should roll so long as they show up, remember the basics and do their jobs. Take the Cougars by 30.
Johnson City at Thorndale
District 14-2A standings are too close to call still. And that’s saying something with only three weeks left. So this contest for our T’dale Bulldogs is crucial.
Johnson City could be problematic. The Eagles have the ugliest helmets on the planet, but they have also had some equally ugly games . . . and some pretty impressive outings.
I’m really thinking this one could be a coin flip – but I got to go with the Bulldogs by four.
