Property values might cause challege

Rosebud-Lott ISD is appealing a property tax hike that could result in the school loosing thousands of dollars in funding.

Appraisers for the school districts must meet a set of requirements set by the state comptroller’s office. Historically, the Rosebud-Lott district has done well and has received adequate funding.

This year is shaping up to be a bit of an anomaly. Despite doing rather well at raising property values, appraisers have fallen short because of a hike in values that they cannot explain.

It is not that value increases are rare, but large ones like this are enough to turn heads.
