Rosebud's Whitfield honored for 1,000 career points at LETU
LeTourneau University women’s basketball senior guard Keauna Whitfield (Rosebud/Rosebud-Lott HS) was honored Friday for becoming the eighth player in school history to score 1,000 career points.
Presented with a commemorative game ball by head coach Cassi Rozanski prior to Friday’s tilt with Mary Hardin-Baylor, Whitfield reached the milestone in last season’s American Southwest Conference quarterfinals. Already named the ASC East Division Player of the Week earlier this season, Whitfield now is tied for sixth on the LETU all-time scoring list. She scored eight points in Friday’s game with UMHB to match Kim Chatman (1996-98) with 1,036 career points.
LeTourneau will play in the Dallas Christian College Christmas Classic Dec. 29-31.
