Still learning and improving

The Rosebud-Lott boys basketball team has gotten off to a somewhat up and down start as their 7-7 record would indicate. There have been times where it all seemed to come together and still others where the team has struggled scoring points. With so many of the team’s members coming off football it is to be expected that they would have trouble scoring.

Basketball has some unique skill requirements that must be developed over time and the Coogs are working against the clock. They have gotten some solid performances in games from a number of key players, it’s just getting consistent play from all of them at the same time.

Point guard JaQuorion Johnson has been solid and leads the team in points per game, steals, and assists. Teammate Jeremy Truesdale has been a reliable scorer and is the leading rebounder for the team. Forward Haven Mortimer has stepped up his game and is developing into a legitimate third scoring option.
