Booster Club Scholarship Applications Now Open

Rosebud-Lott Athletic Booster Club Scholarship Guidelines and Instructions 

The Rosebud-Lott Athletic Booster Club (RIABC) awards athletes who have demonstrated leadership, dedication, teamwork and achievement during their high school athletic participation. The scholarship award will depend on the number of applicants and availability of funds, and may vary. from year to year. Minimum scholarship award will be $500. 

Candidate eligibility

Eligible candidates must meet the following criteria:

• Parent or guardian is a current, active member of the RLABC by September 15 of the athlete's senior year. (Transfer students — students who transfer to RLISD after September 15 during their senior year must proWde verification from their previous school's Athletic Director that they were involved in Athletics (list sports and years participated). In addition, the student must be enrolled in athletics at RLISD. The transferring student will be eligible to apply for the scholarship as long as all other criteria below is met and parent or guardian is an active, participating member of the RLABC.) 
• Parent or guardian (who is the active member above) or applicant has volunteered for at least 10 booster club activities during the athlete's senior year. 
• Applicant is a graduating senior from Rosebud-Lott High School during the scholarship award year 
• Applicant will be enrolled in an accredited 2 or 4 year college or technical school in the fall of the year of high school graduation. 
• Applicant is in good academic, athletic and behavioral standing with RUSE), RL Athletics and RLABC. 

General Information 
Recipients will be selected by a committee consisting of 5 current members of the RLABC who do not have an eligible dependent/family member for the scholarship in the current award year. If needed, nommernbers may be sought from within the Rosebud-Lott community to complete the 5 person committee.

• Scholarship recipient(s) will be announced at the All-Sports Banquet at the end of each year. Recipients will not be notified in advance of the event.
• Recipient will be required to present written proof of enrollment in an institution of higher education in the fall in order for the scholarship check to be issued. Instructions for requesting scholarship check will be given to recipient. Please allow 3 weeks for the check to be processed by RLABC officers.
• Scholarship checks are made payable to the institution, not to the recipient.
• Scholarship funds are submitted for the fall semester and may not be deferred to a later semester. 
• If a recipient withdraws or does not attend college, scholarship funds are forfeited and will be returned to RLABC. 
• If a recipient receives a full ride scholarship, the recipient is no longer eligible to receive the RLABC scholarship. 
• Application must be submitted on the RLABC scholarship application forms. No other format is acceptable. 
• Recommendation forms should be emailed to the person you are requesting a recommendation from. There are 3 required recommendations: 
  • One from the current high school principal, 
  • One from a teacher, who is not a coach, who taught applicant during his or her senior year in one of the applicant's core classes (Math, English, Science or History)
  • One from the current Girls Coordinator or Athletic Director. 
• Any false information found on the application will result in automatic disqualification of the applicant. 
• RLABC reserves the right to rescind or reduce the number of scholarships if recipient violates criteria listed or if there is no deserving applicant. 
• All information in the scholarship application is confidential. 
• All decisions of the RLABC Scholarship committee are final and will not be discussed outside the scholarship committee. 

Completed applications should be emailed to Aballard@rlisd.org by April 30, 2020. Recommendation letters will be emailed to Mrs. Ballard from the recommender. Please allow your recommender ample time to write and submit your recommendation. 
Incomplete or late applications will not be accepted.
