Summer Reading Program begins at Library

Next week will start the summer reading program at the D. Brown Memorial Library.

The rewards program is open to any child in grades K through fifth and will go on from June 15, until July 30. Children can pick up their weekly reading logs when children’s singer Will Parker come to play at the library on June 15 at one o’clock.

This year’s prize for meeting the weekly goal is a coupon for a free ice cream cone at Dairy Queen.

“It is generally aimed at lower grades encouraging summer reading to sustain skills gained during the school year,” explained Librarian Anita Bishop.
