The City of Marlin recently welcomed a dedicated team of youth and adult volunteers from UMARMY (United Methodist Action Reach-Out Mission by Youth), who spent a week repairing homes and restoring hope for Marlin residents in need.

The Falls County 4-H Texas A&M AgriLife Extension has multiple deadlines approaching for various events.

The Smokin’ Rumble, held on July 4th, was the Rosebud Chamber of Commerce’s first annual BBQ Cook Off. The nine participating teams hailed from Houston, Cameron, and the surrounding Rosebud area. All trophies were provided by Jake Hughes, owner of Jake’s Backdoor BBQ & Grill, which had operated in Rosebud for over 13 years. Jake had always wanted a BBQ cook-off to be held in Rosebud, so his trophies were restored and presented to this year’s winners in his honor.
